Chemical source shutters developed at Diversatech.
The shutters pictured above were custom-designed to fit a vacuum chamber in a chemical research lab. I designed the system to regulate the flow of chemicals from sources in a vapor deposition system. The collar in the center fits onto a rotary shaft, and when it turns, the shutters move. The design constraints were such that the system has three states: both sources closed, the left source open, or the right source open. To avoid cross-contamination, each part could only come into contact with one chemical source.
